Less Dust - More Chips
Our new PBLT & PBHT Plus formulations have been designed to produce more chips and less dust. This has been accomplished by reducing the "cell size" of both products which allows more cutting and less pulverizing during the machining process.
Tight cell optimization has also greatly improved priming and finishing properties. Our new Precision Board Plus formulations are composed from special eco-friendly "green urethane" components. With our new formulations, we have achieved a Carbon Balance Foot Print of 3 to 1 and a "Rapidly Renewable Green Resource Content of 18.9%. Coastal will continue its core belief of innovating materials that move us into higher Green ratings and expanded categories.
We also have added an anti-static component to keep airborne dust to a minimum.
To assist in reducing dust we recommend keeping the spindle rpm just fast enough to match the table feed which will result in the smoothest cut. Slightly reducing the ratio of spindle speed to table speed allows the cutter blades adequate time to cut the material without hammering or pulverizing it. Pulverizing is obviously what creates the dust.
The optimum feed/speed ratio for cutting PBLT and PBHT must be determined by each individual operator. The ratio is different for every PB density, plunge depth, cut configuration, model and age of CNC machine, every style of cutter, and even the individual operator.
You will know when the speed/feed ratio is right by the smoothness of the cut and by the effortless sound of the spindle while cutting Precision Board.
